Ali R. Rahimi, M.D.,FACP, AGSF
Dr. Rahimi received his medical degree and completed his internship at Ferdowssi University School of Medicine and Health Science Center in Iran. Upon graduation from medical school, he completed his residency training in Internal Medicine and a cardiology fellowship at St. Thomas’ Hospital and Medical School in London, England.
Before relocating to the United States, Dr. Rahimi served as Chief of Cardiology at Labafi Nedjat Cardiovascular Medical Center in Iran. Subsequently, he joined Washington State University in Pullman, Washington as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Cardiovascular Sciences.
During his tenure with Washington State University, he worked on left ventricular function and mechanical properties. The result of his work was published in the American Journal of Pharmacology and Physiology. Dr. Rahimi continued his medical education domestically by completing residency training in Internal Medicine at St. Raphael Hospital, Yale University and a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Duke University. Dr. Rahimi is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine and served as Associate Program Director of Medical Education. Dr. Rahimi’s passion for medicine motivated him to serve as Chief of Geriatric Medicine, Curriculum Chief for Geriatric and Behavior Medicine, and Director of Research and Scholarly activity at Mercer University Savannah Campus.
Dr. Rahimi’s active career includes an elected Fellow in the American College of Physicians and American Geriatric Society, a Certified Medical Director for long-term care, and the primary investigator in more than 30 clinical trials over the past 20 years.
While it isn’t the end of Dr. Rahimi’s biography, he has authored or co-authored many scientific publications in Iran, England and the United States, in addition to presentations to faculty at the American Geriatric Society, American Heart Association, Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and Southern Medical Association (SMA), and American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr. Rahimi is also a Certified Human’s Rights Consultant
